VARIABLE FREQUENCY POWER SUPPLY
Type PG52

The Convex Design PG52 is a variable frequency sinusoidal AC power supply. The frequency is continuously variable from 47 to 51Hz. A switch is provided to increase the output frequency by approximately 3Hz on the 50Hz range and a 100Hz output is also provided. The output voltage is continuously variable in three switched ranges, nominally 63.5V, 110V and 240Vrms. The 4mm output sockets have shrouded contacts for use with shrouded safety plugs. The rated output of 50VA is obtained at the nominal voltage in each range.

The output is overload protected and indication is provided to show the overload condition. Removal of the overload automatically resets the output to its normal operating condition.

The unit includes a 3½ digit LED voltmeter to indicate the output voltage and a 5 digit LED meter indicating frequency with a resolution of 0.001Hz at 50Hz and 0.01Hz at 100Hz. The frequency meter can also be switched to display the incoming mains supply frequency.

A timing facility is included, utilising the frequency meter, having a range of 0 to 99.999 seconds with a resolution of 1mS. The timer measures the time between the output frequency being reduced by 3Hz and contact closure of the unit under test.

Output voltage and frequency are continuously variable and are adjusted by means of 10-turn potentiometers.

The unit is housed in a two-tone grey metal case with adjustable carrying handle and is supplied complete with manual and test leads. A padded carrying case is available, if required.
