TYPE PG250-SY



The Convex Design PG250-SY is a variable frequency, low distortion, sinusoidal AC power supply providing two voltage outputs rated at 25VA each. It is particularly suitable for testing and calibrating Check Synchronising Relays and System Synchronising Relays but can also be used for testing any item requiring two voltage phases with variable phase angle. The unit can also provide a 3-phase 3-wire supply capability by setting the phase angle to 60°.

The frequency of each channel can be varied independently from 46 to 52Hz by means of 10-turn potentiometers. An isolated output with lamp indication of the beat frequency between the two channels is provided. Both channels can be synchronised to the same frequency (46 to 52Hz) and the phase difference between the two channels adjusted over the range -199° to +199° by means of a three-digit thumbwheel switch giving a 1° resolution.

The output voltage of each channel is continuously variable from 0-120Vrms using 10-turn potentiometers and an additional 10-turn potentiometer is provided to control both output voltages simultaneously. Each channel is provided with an output on/off switch with lamp indication, a 3½ digit LED voltmeter and a 5 digit LED frequency meter.

A timing facility is included, utilising a frequency meter, with a range of 0 to 99.999 Secs and a resolution of 1mS. This provides measurement of Check Time, System Time, Dwell Time and Reset Time.

The unit is housed in a two-tone grey metal case with adjustable carrying handle and is supplied complete with manual and test leads. A padded protective carrying case is available, if required.
