TYPE PG250-LFP
The Convex Design PG250-LFP is a two channel (one voltage and one current output), fixed or variable frequency, low distortion AC electronic power supply with adjustable phase angle. It is particularly suitable for testing and calibrating Low Forward Power (PPX) Relays, where it is necessary to test with a pure supply waveform and a phase angle of 90° between the voltage and current vectors. However, it may be used in any application where a low distortion dual voltage/current variable phase supply is required.
The output frequency is either 50Hz crystal-controlled, or can be varied from 47 to 52Hz by means of a 10-turn potentiometer. The frequency of the output is displayed on a 5 digit LED frequency meter.
Channel 1 supplies an output voltage of 0-120V at up to 25VA and channel 2 supplies an output current of 0-5A at up to 20VA. The phase angle between the current and voltage may be set to any value in the range +99° to -99° by means of a two-digit thumbwheel switch giving 1° increments, and a potentiometer giving ±1.5° variation.
The voltage and current outputs are set using two 10-turn potentiometers and are displayed on two digital panel meters. The current output has three switched ranges with nominal outputs of 20mA, 1A and 5A.
A timing facility is included, utilising the frequency meter, having a range of 0 to 99.999 seconds with a resolution of 1mS. The timer measures the time between the current output being switched off and the contact closure of the unit under test.
The unit is housed in a two-tone grey metal case with adjustable carrying handle. Supplied complete with manual, leads and a padded carrying case.
