METER IMPULSING INTERPOSING UNIT
Types MIIU8 & MIIU392

Meter Impulsing Interposing Units (MIIU) provide a barrier between the impulsing outputs of energy meters and data processing equipment located externally to the metering suite.

The MIIU contains eight interposing relays, each relay providing either one normally-open output contact (MIIU8) or two normally-open output contacts (MIIU392). Mercury-wetted relays are used to give a life expectancy in excess of 1 x 109 operations.

The eight inputs to the MIIU, from volt-free contacts of energy meters, are made by two 20-way '516' connectors.The volt free output contacts are made via 16-way or 32 way terminal blocks.

Input circuits and each output circuit are isolated from earth and each other to a level of 2KV rms at 50Hz.

The MIIU case incorporates a mounting base allowing the unit to be mounted on a HORIZONTAL 'G' or 'top hat' DIN rail.

                                           with the relay output contacts.

energising relay:                   6mA minimum at 43Vdc.
